first_imgSOUTHERN EUROPE: DOCUMENTARY The Cook Islands Tourism presence at the San Diego Travel & Adventure show 19-20 January was further enhanced by a new PR ploy that elevated the Cook Islands to be the featured destination on CBS News 8 and FOX 5.Interviews with CITC North American Marketing manager, Christian Mani aired the day before, 18 January, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers.A small Cook Islands string band and dancer from Las Vegas backgrounded the interviews, and participated at the show booth.An impromptu discussion with one of the keynote speakers also enabled our destination to achieve special mention during the on-stage presentation.About 14,000 San Diegans attended the weekend show.Click here to see the interview. NORTH AMERICA: CBS & FOX Bringing the warmth to Northern Europe (NE) is the Cook Islands dance team lead by Cook Islands Tourism’s very own Nicholle Ama and NE General Manager, Lars Schubert.Nicholle is dancing alongside a team of young, talented Cook Islanders including the likes of Teivanui Maui, Teuira Napa, Ngamata Miriau and Tamaiva Mateariki.The dance team have been wowing attendees at some of the largest trade and travel conventions across Europe for the past few weeks; singing, strumming, drumming and dancing in true Cook Islands fashion.The team were even featured in ONE News’ ‘Social Media Post of the Week‘ They have 2 more weeks to go before making their way back home to a little paradise.
