The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) says the United National Party (UNP) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) must continue to work together in the Constitution making process.TNA leader R. Sampanthan said that both parties must work together at this crucial time to overcome barriers and obstacles that are threats to the process. He said Sri Lanka never had a Constitution based on national consensus and so now there was an opportunity to draft a Constitution on national consensus. A TNA statement said that Sampanthan had expressed these views at a meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop. Sampanthan also asserted the TNA does not want a Constitution which divides the country. (Colombo Gazette)
