Watford have signed Marseille defender Brice Dja Djedje…according to the player.The Ivory Coast international has told French newspaper L’Equipe he is set to complete a £4million move to the Premier League and pen a four-year contract with the Hornets, and will now link up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour of Austria.“I had other proposals, yes, even a German club, but I preferred to sign for Watford because this is a good club,” 25-year-old Dja Djedje said.“I will find some former players of Ligue 1 and because it allows me to set foot in the Premier League.”The right-back says he is looking forward to working with new Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri, whom he claims was interested in signing him when in charge at Napoli.“I feel with him [Mazzarri] I can continue to progress,” he added.“He wants to play his 3-5-2 team, this is a system that suits me well because we played in a slightly similar way with Marcelo [Bielsa].”Watford are yet to officially confirm the transfer, but have been busy reshaping the squad for life after Quique Sanchez Flores, who left the club at the end of the season after keeping the Hertfordshire club in the top flight and also taking them to the  FA Cup semi-finals.New manager Mazzarri has already landed young Liverpool winger Jerome Sinclair, Belgium international Christian Kabasele and forward Isaac Success, as well as Colombia international full-back Juan Camilo Zuniga on loan from Napoli.last_img read more
